This training program has been designed for care workers to improve their understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body systems that relate to chronic oedema / lymphedema. It covers the management systems prescribed for clients and best practice when applying Haddenham products.

Learning outcomes

This course is designed to provide core understanding regarding chronic oedema and the philosophy of compression therapy to enable successful application of Haddenham Healthcare products. The outcomes are:

  • To increase your confidence in providing safe and effective personal care for a client living with chronic oedema /lymphoedema.

  • To recognise the signs and symptoms of a worsening condition for effective management of Chronic oedema.

  • To understand the importance of timely and appropriate referrals to peers.

  • To understand how to minimise the opportunity for infection of a client living with Chronic oedema.

  • To increase your confidence in reporting concerns or changes that may require a reassessment of a clients compression or management.

  • To participate in a practical learning session with the opportunity to experience the Haddenham product ranges available to manage this group of clients.

Who is this course for?

This course is specifically designed for CareWorkers, working in aged care settings and who may be dealing with cases of Chronic Oedema or Lymphoedema. 

  • To become familiar with the signs and symptoms of changing health conditions of a client at risk of Chronic oedema / Lymphoedema.
  • To be confident to report these observations for further assessment by peers to provide the best management for Chronic oedema / lymphoedema.

Course structure

This course consists of a self-paced online module that you work through prior to attending a face to face workshop. On completion of the online module, you will need to register to attend a face to face workshop with a Haddenham Healthcare Clinical Consultant.
